Advocacy Efforts
The RMTAO is the voice of the profession. We advocate on behalf of all RMTs in Ontario and we are devoted to representing and protecting your interests. We dedicate time to protecting and advancing your interests while discussing crucial issues with government agencies, regulatory bodies, insurance companies, and other important stakeholders. We are working with our partners in the Canadian Massage Therapist Alliance to fight for tax exemption for massage therapists.

We constantly offer new and innovative courses on a variety of topics across Ontario, both in person and online. We also have a biennial Education Conference, which features three days of continuing education sessions that can be customized to suit your learning needs. Having access to the latest research is another way to maintain your high standards of practice, and you can access research with our quarterly magazine Massage Therapy Today: Putting Knowledge Into Practice. Discounted Programs
As a Registered Massage Therapist you will need Professional Liability Insurance (PLI) and we offer the lowest PLI rate in Canada, which includes $5 million aggregate coverage. This also includes Commercial General Liability Insurance at $3 million per incident. We also offer discounts on other insurance programs including additional modality coverage, home and auto insurance, health and dental insurance, and personal disability insurance.
We offer a discounted membership to GoodLife Fitness, which is pro-rated quarterly. To help manage your practice, we offer members discounts on ClinicSense, a practice management software. We also offer members exclusive discounts on work ware at Mark's. Members can also sign up for Perkopolis, which offers access to various discounted products and services including hotels, attractions, movies, shopping and travel. Members also receive access to discounted mobile rates and services with TELUS Mobility, and discounts on work wear purchased at Mark's.
